When we are kids we felt so carefree. Spent time cuddling up with parents, sleeping for hours without any effort, playing endlessly ....everything now seems so surreal. Once we start going to school everything changes. It is our first step to the real world. Some accept the challenge ahead by happily going to school and for some it is a nightmare , but still we think we have our parents to shield us from all the difficulties.
What I liked about school the most was the annual day celebration. This is the day to showcase the talent of the students other than studies. Isn't it great that a few hours of preparation is enough to give there best performance!!! Whenever there comes a guest in the house parents proudly show their kids achievements in sports or dancing or singing. They even enroll their little ones to such schools where thy can learn more on those fields.
When you are reaching your boards, everthing else other than studies , comes to a halt. We start mugging up day and night. "This is the most important exam of your life and after that everything will be easy." I am sure you must have encountered this dialogue, from your parents ,during your boards!!! I got to know that India is among the top nations where children put on the most hours in studies. It is good to see India topping some of the charts. Isn't it? Every parent want their child to be an engineer or a docter. They forget that their child showed interest on other field. Crushing their dreams the children are made to choose their parent's dreams. Parents are ready to shell out any amount for it. Some succeed and some become good for nothing. Their life becomes shattered. Parents are the one to be blamed for such debacle. If instead of pursuing their dreams they would have given importance to their kid's dream then the scenario might be something else.
I personally think that parents too need councelling to understand their children's position. It is for this reason unemployment is increasing in our country. I wish parents support their children how they supported them when they were kids. Set them free to reach greater heights.
