Golgappa!!!

The king of Indian snack ,"the golgappa"!!!! Yes, it even got registered inself into the Oxford dictonary recently. I remember gorging on this mouth watering snack every time we went on an outing with my family. Once a week the golgappa wala used to come to our lane ringing its iconic bell. With the sound of the bell every child used to run out with a rupee or two. At that time , with one rupee we could easily get ten golgappas!!! Isn't it sounds surreal now? It is. We used to eat to our heart content leaving no place for dinner. Then our mother used to wake us saying that, if we sleep with an empty stomach then we would get bad dreams. We would awake with fear and finish our dinner half heartedly.

By the time we reached college life, we could eat 8 golgappas with a five rupees. Its size also decreased
Considerably. A golgappa is a golgappa , it cannot be left whatever may be its price. Recently, you will get around 6 golgappa including papdi!!! Can you imagine its price 10 years from now....

Its not only golgappa but a regular phenomenon all over , where we need to shell out unreasonable price for everything around us. I remember I used to feel so sad when I used to give my engineering semester fees of twenty three thousand, thinking that my father has to give so much money for my studies. Now the fees seems unrealistic. We Indians are fascinated with the idea of paying higher sum for a particular thing. You might have overheared the man buying clothes next to you," bhaiya uchhe daam wala dikhana". It becomes easy for the shopkeeper to fool him accordingly.

I recently bumped through a YouTube video about girls showing their summer haul and the likes ,from other countries. There they might mention they brought a dress in 10 dollars or even 2 dollars . It suddenly made me think about what mummy used to say about there times. How they used to buy things in such a less amount. It sometimes makes me doubtful whether we were better earlier or are now???

But who cares? Whatever may be the condition we won't blink an eye lead relishing on our mouthwatering golgappas!!! Isn't it!!!!!!!!!

My New Year Resolution!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE Oh my God!!! We all entered another year. I remember I stared my previous year on a very positive note and wish to do so this year as well. I know the path I have chosen will bring me towards more happiness and continue to do so . But this time I shall make myself count for the promise I shall fulfill this year is to Read some good books. I had read some last year but I don't think it was satisfactory. So I shall make myself richer in knowledge this year for sure. If there is night, there shall also come a day to shine and spread your light to the entire world.

Away with the awkwardness!!!!

When we are at  a new place, meeting a new person or situation, there is a sense of awkwardness in the air.  It cannot be helped , it's bound to happen to introverts mostly. But there are so many new ways of avoiding them or breaking the ice, isn't it. Thanks to social media, it's so easy. It's so easy to write or "like" maybe , to starting being familiar.  But there are situations which cannot be avoided , which arises meeting face to face. Like for example , this is a students birthday , I was invited to. The family is our neighbors as well . I am familiar with the family too but I didn't know how to face the situation. So I helped serving the kids after the party, rather than sit at a corner like a strict teacher. I don't know what impression I might have put on others but I was relieved at that very moment. That's the way I pulled out of that situation. I don't think its bad to behave a little relaxed as such. It's good fo...

Wood making a comeback!!!!

I have never doubted the strength of things of the older times. Whether it is older structures or the strength of our previous generations. They will always remain forefront. It's our belief in them that we again and again go back to the things of the past and make it a part of our present life. Like ,I thought that culottes was so fresh fashion. But when I saw the 70's actress wearing it,its like cool!!!! It's the same thing with wood.  They are thinking of cars made of wood, which would be lighter and stronger!!! Such a cute little modern twist to the age old Chariot!!!! I always think that ,everything is good if it is in sync with the environment. Do I have a wish for anything of the past to make a comeback, then what it would me???? Umm.. Telephones may be...
