Happy Durga puja....

There is already the smell of festivity in the air. Oh!! It feels so exciting. It all starts with the Ganesh puja. Of course he is the first to be prayed before everyone. And come October its the Durga puja which I love the most. It feels nostalgic because wonderful memories of the childhood is attached to it. Days of preparations goes into it!!! What clothes to wear is of course the most important of the task. I completely have faith in my mother. She does all the shopping. Our taste actually matches. With family reunion in my mother's side I always look forward to. All the cousins come together,its a blast.

 Besides all the enjoyment , the most I look forward to is the festival itself. The ten day affair is amazing. Have you every thought about the question that why it was only a female Goddess was chosen to put an end to such a dreaded monster? Any guesses??? Well the reason is, the demon never anticipated that a women can kill him. The most silly mistake he made ,I guess!!!  Well jokes apart, more than anyone else it is we the women who always take ourselves lightly. Its not blasphemous as you think. It is so true. Remember the Goddess's image. She had been bestowed with all sorts of weapon. Every God presented their weapon to her. Think for a while, every weapon needs the equal amount of energy to control it. And the Goddess was carrying almost 9 weapon with her ten hands.

 We as women has a lot of potential than we can think of and we ourselves have to ignite it. We are soft as well as fierce at the same time....

 So this Durga puja take a new flight with new confidence and conquer the world!!! Get going girls!!!

Away with the awkwardness!!!!

When we are at  a new place, meeting a new person or situation, there is a sense of awkwardness in the air.  It cannot be helped , it's bound to happen to introverts mostly. But there are so many new ways of avoiding them or breaking the ice, isn't it. Thanks to social media, it's so easy. It's so easy to write or "like" maybe , to starting being familiar.  But there are situations which cannot be avoided , which arises meeting face to face. Like for example , this is a students birthday , I was invited to. The family is our neighbors as well . I am familiar with the family too but I didn't know how to face the situation. So I helped serving the kids after the party, rather than sit at a corner like a strict teacher. I don't know what impression I might have put on others but I was relieved at that very moment. Wood making a comeback!!!!

I have never doubted the strength of things of the older times. Whether it is older structures or the strength of our previous generations. They will always remain forefront. It's our belief in them that we again and again go back to the things of the past and make it a part of our present life. Like ,I thought that culottes was so fresh fashion. But when I saw the 70's actress wearing it,its like cool!!!! It's the same thing with wood.  They are thinking of cars made of wood, which would be lighter and stronger!!!
